I'm a freelance journalist and author, specialising in deeply-reported features and multimedia storytelling. My personal interests include animals, the ocean, climate change, environmental crime, the brain and mind – however, I cover stories across science, health and the environment.

Before going freelance in September 2021, I worked for Wired magazine in London and the Swiss newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung, where I wrote articles and produced videos.

My articles have also appeared in National Geographic, New Statesman and Republik, among other magazines. I have lived in Mozambique and reported stories from Madagascar and Sri Lanka.

I write in English and German and am fluent in French. I can also speak Spanish and Portuguese.

Multimedia stories are fun to produce: this interactive longform story about climate change in the Arctic was published on I have also recorded podcasts and authored three non-fiction books for children.
